Criminal record check

GSL is a registered body with the Criminal Records Bureau and Disclosure Scotland and is audited by them. We are authorised to act as an umbrella body  to carry out criminal records checks on individuals for organisations who have a legitimate need for such protection. This entitles GSL to countersign applications on behalf of such organisations.

The CRB and Disclosure Scotland offer two types of check: Standard and Enhanced. The type of check conducted will be dependent on the nature of the position applied for and whether it involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults.

In co-operation with the company Veri-fy we can provide a service of face-to-face identification. This service, approved by the Criminal Records Bureau, involves an applicant visiting a designated local Post Office where trained staff will validate identification documents and enter the details on the Disclosure application form required in the checking process. The completed form is then forwarded, via the registered body, to the Criminal Records Bureau. The process saves time and money on previous methods of authenticating identity and documentation.
